Montana experiences working with Reclink

Recently we had Montana from Victoria University Polytechnic join the team at Reclink Australia for two weeks of work placement. She had the opportunity to head outdoors with the Activic crew and organise, set up and participate in some of the sports events. Indoors, she helped out the accounts team and AAA Play, producing some great Instagram images and having a go at writing a news story...

Montana's work experience by Montana Whiteley

My name is Montana Whiteley. I am studying Certificate 1 in Education (Sports), at Victoria Polytechnic. I am a runner and an athlete, which I enjoy because it’s fun. I do Inclusive Sports Training on the weekends, and swimming on Thursday nights in Richmond. I compete in triathlons so I need to train pretty hard, so I do a lot of stretching afterward to help with my recovery. Food is important for recovery as well – my favourites are bananas and nectarines.

During my time here, I’ve created Instagram posts; this meant I had to take photos outside, come up with hashtags and the words for the posts. I’ve helped out with office administration as well!

I did a sports day in Dandenong at one of the local parks. We played soccer with Dandenong West Primary School and put on a sausage sizzle for them as well. I led the basketball drills at the primary school too, which the kids loved.

I’ve enjoyed making the Instagram posts and taking photos outside, because it was a lot of fun!

We also visited Doveton and I got to play at Bowling Zone, which was pretty fun too.
